Birding HikeSet for Saturday

Paul Fellers will lead the hike looking for red-cockaded woodpeckers, singing Bachman's sparrows, brown-headed nuthatch and Carolina chickadee Saturday through the Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area.

For carpooling, participants will meet at 6:30 a.m. at Street Nature Center, 115 Lameraux Road, in Winter Haven, or at 7 a.m. at the McDonald's off U.S. 27 and north of State Road 60 in Lake Wales at 7 a.m.

Participants should bring lunch, drinks and insect repellent.
