Too Good to Be True, Cheap Gas Was Error

LAKELAND | A pricing error at a Lakeland 7-Eleven was a wish come true Thursday afternoon for motorists yearning for a return to cheaper gas.

The discount - roughly $1 per gallon - was only temporary.
It was about an hour before a worker at the station at North Socrum Loop Road and Lakeland Park Drive spotted the error.
But that was long enough to attract motorists hungry for a break from high prices at the pump.
"A lot of gas has been sold," said one employee who didn't want to be identified for fear of speaking without authorization.
It wasn't clear just how the mistake was made, or how word got around to customers.
The store manager told The Ledger that he wasn't authorized to talk to a reporter, but that a company spokesman would be available for questions today.
