For the second time in less than a year, Kristin Eilertsen was sworn in as a member of the Polk City Council.

Eilertsen defeated challenger Janet Ayala in the April municipal election to fill the remaining the two years left in the term for Seat Five, which was held by the late Leonard McManigle.

In December, Eilertsen was chosen by the council to fill the council vacancy created by the death of McManigle after a sudden illness.
