New Preschools Director Appointed

Magdelena Friedt has been appointed as director of preschool programs in the Polk School District's Learning Division.

The School Board approved the appointment Tuesday. Friedt began her career in 1975 as a first-grade teacher at Bartow Elementary. Since 2005 she has held the position of senior coordinator of child care Services at the District Office. Her salary will be $82,506.
