TAMPA | Ryan Pope pitched six solid innings and Seth Fortenberry hit his first home run of the season to lead the Tampa Yankees Tuesday.

The victory evened the three-game series at 1 for Tampa. The pair play again tonight at Steinbrenner Field at 7 p.m.

Pope allowed one run on four hits and struck out one against Lakeland.

It was 1-1 going into the bottom of the fourth when Tampa took the lead for good.

Josue Calzado's sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single by Kyle Anson provided the margin.

Ryan Strieby went 2-for-2 and drove in Lakeland's lone run Tuesday. The Flying Tigers fell to 20-18.
