Jay F. and Rita M. Reed will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their home in Lake Wales. They were married May 5, 1955, while he was serving as a sergeant in the Army 101st Airborne Infantry.

Their children are Sharon Cook of Palmetto; James Reed and Kenneth Reed, both of Eagle Lake; and Stephen Reed of Lake Wales.

Jay Reed retired in 1996 from Roadway Express, Inc. Rita Reed retired the same year from Polk County Schools Food Service.
